One of the most important services we provide to potential clients is the initial consultation. During your
consultation, we can review your paperwork and evidence, in addition to answering any questions you might have. We get enough
information from you to understand your unique situation, desires, and goals from our representation. The information-gathering
process allows us to give you customized advice. If you are unsure if we handle your type of case, fill out a case evaluation
form.
There is a flat rate, $300 fee to consult with Managing
Attorney Regina I. Edwards for one hour. There is a $250 fee for consultations with our associate attorneys. Because there
is a flat fee for the consultation, you need not worry that “the clock is ticking” in case the consultation
lasts a bit more than an hour. You are encouraged to take the time to be sure you are getting the advice you need and that
you understand your legal options. Please feel free to fax or email over any documentation that would assist us in our consultation.
In fact, if a case is filed, it is imperative that we review all the filed documents prior to your consultation. The consultation
is YOUR time, so the better prepared you are, the more we can help you. Please select the office at which you would like
your consultation to be held. You will be able to view a calendar in which we have set aside time at that particular office.
There may be additional days and times available. Should you require a day and time not posted on the calendar, please call
the office at 404.841.0155. If you have an emergency matter, please call and we may be able to accommodate
your schedule. For telephone consultations, please either call the office to set up the appointment, or clearly indicate
in your booking that it is a telephone appointment. We will conduct evening and weekend appointments for $350.
We will perform an initial analysis, and inform you of the strengths and weaknesses of the case. There will be
weaknesses in your case, and we will always be upfront and honest about your case's weaknesses and will brainstorm strategies
to either repair or mitigate those flaws long before the case arrives in court. To find out what to bring to your consultation,
consult this page. In addition, you may want to fill out a case evaluation form prior to coming in for your appointment,
so we can be familiar with your facts and issues prior to your arrival. If you are considering retaining Edwards & Associates,
the consultation process is an opportunity for you to become acquainted with our professional staff, who will assist you
throughout your case. The consultation always remains confidential, even if you do not retain us. In addition, if your spouse
or opposing party contacts us at any time in the future, they will be informed that we cannot provide any services to them.
Please feel free to inquire at any time during or after the consultation about the costs of any future representation. Every
case is unique, and as a result, attorney’s fees can vary greatly from case to case.
We are not able to give you an estimate of costs until we sit down with you, review your paperwork, and listen to your story.
We pledge to always give a candid analysis of what the costs of your case might be.
Phone
Consultations
For the convenience of our out-of-state or out-of-country clients, whom Edwards & Associates services on a
regular basis, we also provide telephone consultations. A “telephone consultation” is the same as an in-person
consultation, except for the fact that it occurs via telephone. The same consultation fee applies and must be paid via credit
card and a receipt signed in advance. At any point during or after the consultation, you may choose to retain our firm.
For your convenience, in addition to traditional payment methods, Edwards & Associates accepts Visa, MasterCard and
American Express. After becoming a client, you will meet our staff who will assist with your case, and you will receive additional
reading material and forms to complete via e-mail. Our resources and tools have been exclusively prepared by our firm to provide
an overview to the family law process.
We certainly look forward to the possibility of meeting
with you for a consultation. If you decide to arrange a consultation with one of our attorneys, please simply call us to
make the appointment. You will be asked to provide some basic information, as well as whether you would like to schedule
an appointment in our Buckhead or Gwinnett locations. Please refer to this page to find out what you should bring to a consultation.
